Low Back Pain & Sciatica

Radicular pain radiates from the back or hip and travels through the spinal root nerve and to the legs. The pain may be accompanied by tingling, muscle weakness, or numbness. Extreme pain occurs if the spinal root nerve is inflamed or gets compressed.

Facet intraarticular block

Facet joints are the two small joints present in each vertebral segment. Facet intra-articular corticosteroid injections offer a possible extension of pain relief beyond the first 24-48 hours of pain relief achieved through a medical branch block injection mixed with only a local anaesthetic. Therefore it is used as both a therapeutic and diagnostic injection.

Facet Medial Nerve Block

A combination of local anaesthetic and steroid is injected around the medial nerve, a nerve that supplies the facet joint. A medial branch block is like the facet block with just the difference that the medication is injected outside the joint space, closer to the nerve supplying the joint called the medial branch.

Facet Medial Nerve RF Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA), or radiofrequency neurotomy, is a procedure that treats several conditions like chronic neck and back pain. RFA can be used to treat pain originating from the hip’s sacroiliac joints, the vertebral facet joints, or the posterior pelvis. The treatment involves heating a part of the nerve transmitting the pain with a radiofrequency needle to create a heat lesion that blocks the pain signals to the brain

Selective Nerve Root Block

A selective nerve root block (SNRB) injection is used to treat and diagnose an inflamed spinal nerve. As part of the treatment, an anaesthetic or a combination of anaesthetic with steroids is administered around the spinal nerve. The treatment numbs the pain signals transmitted by the nerves and reduces the inflammation.

DRG Pulsed Radiofrequency

DRG Pulsed Radiofrequency is used to treat nerve pain caused by irritation or sensitization or malfunction of the nerve system. The procedure is performed by a pain specialist in an operating theatre. Under x-ray guidance, a special needle is inserted alongside the affected nerve. Most commonly, the nerve roots that leave the spine are treated with this procedure, though it can be used to treat other nerves. Once the needle is in position, the tip is gently heated using radiofrequency impulses. This adjusts the disturbed nerve function called as neuro modulation.

Intradiscal PRP

In the Intradiscal PRP procedure, blood platelet cells from the patient are used to stimulate healing in the spinal cord. Since the spinal discs have a limited supply of blood, they have poor inherent potential. This healing potential is dramatically increased by placing a high concentration of healing platelets from the patient directly at the site of degeneration or injury in the disc.
